Bobby Young has been an important part of my life for over 10 years. From mentoring our oldest son as a teacher, to working together on the football field as coaches, to watching him start his own ministry a few years ago, Bobby is the kind of man that makes your life better for knowing him. Most recently Bobby accepted the challenge of heading up a new mens group I am a part of and he is making an impact in the lives of a number of men I know.
When Bobby Young was five years old his mother died. At seventeen his father passed away. Three days before his father died, Bobby invited the Lord Jesus into his life. Our conversation covers free will, the desire to be love & seen, why people do what they do ( it's not what you might think ) and the mistakes many of us make in our walk with, or search for, Jesus.
Bobby is not your average pastor. Part theologian, part philosopher, and all parts politically incorrect Bobby reminds you more of the guy at the ball game than the guy in the pulpit. This is the secret sauce. One of the most disarming men I have known, Bobby knows how to make everyone feel seen and heard. That, and his ability to share the gospel in a way that makes the non-believer want to ask question after question, is his super power.
I started this podcast by asking him what he would say to someone who wanted to know why our world was going as haywire as it is. In true Bobby fashion, he used that question as a way to talk about love and why it, or the lack of it, is the key to all of the mess we are seeing. Some of the the people most damaged in our world today are the one’s that need it most.
I hope you take the time to listen to this episode. It is meaningful and barely scrapes the surface of a topic very few are good at discussing, but Bobby is one of those few. If you are searching, Bobby is not just a great guy to listen to but you can actually reach out and speak with him.
In addition to speaking every Sunday throughout Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina, Bobby is engaged in discipling various men throughout each week. He also produce a daily blog and podcast. Both can be accessed at www. Byoungministry.com
Bobby’s podcast can be accessed on Apple Podcasts, Rumble, Spotify and You Tube
